insects and Coffee

About me?

Well this Blog is about two things I am fascinated with; Coffee and Insects.

I know, it is a strange combination of things to blog about. I’ve kept these things separate in my digital life in the past and it was difficult, not keeping up with either Blog. One of my favorite things to do is crawl on the ground in the back yard, cup of Coffee in one hand, camera in the other shooting photos of Bugs, so why not keep them together here, in the digital.

Currently I work for a Coffee Roasting Company, Batdorf and Bronson Espresso Parts and Olympia Coffee Roasting Company.

Favorite things about working for a roastery? Access to great Coffees from all over the world. Cupping our production roasts. Cupping other roaster’s Coffees. Cupping samples that come in. Cupping the COE auction lots (with the price of COE Coffees we may not always get to buy, but we get to have a tiny little bit of some of the greatest Coffees out there). And well, Access to equipment that I currently can not afford to have in my home.

Once asked of me, “Coffee or Espresso? If you had to choose between the two, which would you choose? You know, if that’s all you could have.”

Well, back then it was definitely “Espresso.”

And If asked now… I’d answer the same, Espresso!

I do love Coffee, but I love the chase of Espresso. Every day, hoping this will be one of those magic days, where the Extraction just can’t go wrong.
